PCV Pagan Pride Day 2019

Grab your picnic gear and a camp chair and join the PCV for a casual and informative gathering in Edinburgh Gardens to celebratePagan Pride Day 2019.

It will be a great opportunity to meet representatives from a large cross-section of the Victorian pagan community and find out more about what is happening in our vibrant, diverse and open community. Best of all it is free.

We will be gathering behind the rotunda which is visible from St George’s Rd and is almost directly opposite the intersection of Brunswick St North and St George’s Rd. We are going to have up some banners and flags which should help make us easier to find.

The Element of Air Workshop

Discover how to create a strong connection with the air elements, empower your everyday life and open you to a new dimension of beings that work beyond our physical world! It is this element that lifts the wings of birds, raising them to heights where they soar above the world and it is Air that allows our own invisible wings to be lifted high above the plane we dwell on, taking us into the realm of possibilities.

Craft Your Own Book of Shadows Workshop

A book of shadows, also known as a Grimoire, is a place where a Witch keeps records of their research, spells, rituals, recipes, meditations, thoughts and other magickal secrets. This can be created from any kind of book you like, from a simple note book to something more elaborate with leather binding. It is up to you and is a very personal thing! You can decorate your book of shadows however you like. It all depends upon your taste and available time for the task. Some keep them very simple, some create beautiful meaningful covers but keep the inside plain, and others use elaborate decorations inside and out! The beauty is that it is up to you! The process of starting your own book of shadows can be daunting by yourself, so this short course will give you all the guidance and tools you need to start the process with confidence. Together we will discuss the options for your personal book of shadows, make suggestions of what it may contain or what you might do for the cover. Then you will be given a book plus many decorations to choose from to create the perfect cover that represents you and begin to create a magickal interior that you love and can continue to build on and work with!

Making Magick Wands Workshop

Magick wands are used to direct and amplify Universal Energy and the most powerful wand is the one you make for yourself! In this short course you will create a magick wand using crystals, feathers, and wood blessed by the tree itself. A magick wand is a great tool to have in any room to create beautiful, calming energy, or use it as a healing tool to balance any level of the body’s energy. Wands are also an essential tool for any Ritual or Circle.

Decorate your wand with special items such as ribbons, beads, shells, etc to give it your own look and feel. There will be an assortment of items for you to choose from to add to your special wand, or bring something from home.

The workshop will finish with an optional short ceremony to cleanse and charge the wand with your energies. Everyone attending the workshop will leave with a complete and ready to use magick wand!

Healing the Shadow Self Ritual

Connect with Lord Shiva, his powers, and his blessings to clear away ego attachments and heal the shadow aspects of the self, allowing us to be reborn, healed, and renewed. Lord Shiva is the prefect Divine Energy to assist us in releasing those aspects of the shadow self and ego that cause us to suffer. Through Lord Shiva’s Dance, we learn to release and clear negativity with grace and ease, taking advantage of the fact that all things change, so all things can be cleared, healed and made anew.

This ceremony takes elements from both the Buddhist and Vedic (yogic) carnal ground practises. Lord Shiva is invoked for his guidance and energy of destruction and renewal.

Lord Shiva has a special connection to meditation practises which aid in controlling and clearing the ill-effects of the uncontrolled ego. Your uncontrolled ego is the only thing that prevents you from attaining greatness. It is your uncontrolled ego that comes between your goals and your dreams, and makes you a less loving person. It is said that Lord Shiva carries his trishul (trident) to keep his ego in check. Lord Shiva never lets his ego get the better of himself. On the other hand, nor does Lord Shiva tolerate anyone else’s ego causing harm.

The Sabbat of Autumn Equinox (Mabon) Workshop

Connect to the Sabbat of Autumn Equinox in creative and practical ways by making your very own corn dolly, a beautiful, magickal tool that represents the Goddess and can be used in this celebration as well as others throughout the wheel of the year. Decorate your corn dolly in preparation for your very own Autumn Equinox celebration and connect with the Goddess Ceres through meditation.

The eight Sabbats of a Witch represent the turning of the Wheel of the year and honour not only the current season but also the stages in the eternal life cycle of the Goddess and God. Mabon, or Autumn Equinox, is a Witches’ Sabbat where day and night are of equal length. The God nears his death and the Goddess prepares for his rebirth. The bounty of the harvest is celebrated in wine festivals, knowing that soon Winter will bring uncertainty. It is the second of the Harvest festivals and is associated with the reaping of corn, grains and other foods that can be harvested at this time.
