2015-2016 Committee

Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM yesterday! The turnout was just amazing, and it was excellent to hear feedback and ideas from so many different paths and traditions within our community. 🙂

Minutes of the AGM and of the committee meeting that followed it will be available soon, but we thought we’d share the changes to the committee resulting from the AGM.

Firstly, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing committee members, who were invaluable in the Collective’s first year. It was a pleasure working with you and learning so much about different paths within the Pagan community. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope to see you around the traps soon. Allison, Lisa, Bret, Brett, Hawthorn and Seline.

Proposed Membership Fees for 2016 – Josie So far the collective has run as a free organisation, however running the organisation has costs and these have been getting covered by Josie and Ryan.
The proposed fees that the Collective move to will be:

– $15 Student/Concession

– $25 Normal

– $40 Family (3 – 4 adults all residing at the same address is a family for the purposes of membership fees.)

Happy 1st Birthday, PCV!

The PCV turns 1 year old today!

In twelve short months, what started out as a few scribbles in a notebook and some far-fetched ideas has grown into a vibrant, active community full of inspiring people!
We wanted to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has volunteered their time and energy along the way. Many thanks to EVERYONE who attended meetings, meetups or Yule dinner, read our newsletter or offered words of encouragement.
Special thanks are also in order for our hardworking committee:
– To Sarah M, who worked (and still works!) tirelessly to run our Hills and CBD meetups. These have become so popular due to your friendly, welcoming manner and the great atmosphere of the Magpie Cafe.
– To Mark H and Mei T, who have been invaluable in their assistance with the Yule dinner, the membership survey and so much more! We couldn’t have done it without you. 🙂
– To River and Nickole, for sharing your knowledge, advice and ideas with us and for your kind offer to host our first public ritual.
– To Cosette, Bret, Lucas, Sigrid, Adrienne, Mel, Des, River, Mark, Mei, Viv, Vee and Sarah for your fantastic contributions to the Spokes newsletter.

The Collective really is only as strong and as diverse as its members. Without your support, this would never have come as far as it has in such a short time. If Victoria’s Pagan Community can achieve such great things in just a year of putting our heads together, just think about what we’ll do in the years to come…

PCV Annual General Meeting 2015 – Proxy Voting Now Open

Dear members,

Nominations have now closed for the Annual General Meeting, which is set to take place at Stuzzi in Northcote at 1pm on the 18th of July. At the AGM, members will be asked to cast their vote on our new committee.

Members who are unable to attend the AGM are invited to send in their proxy vote before the event (see below). Several roles have gone uncontested and will not require a vote, however the role of Vice President requires a vote from members as there are three candidates.

The nominations for the 2015-2016 year are:

President: Josie (uncontested)

Secretary: Mark H (uncontested)

Treasurer: Ryan (uncontested)

Vice President: Mei Turnbull, Cameron Keech, Lucas Dell

General committee members (we can have as many general committee members as we like, this list just has to be approved by members at the AGM): Ben F-C, Sarah M, Cameron K, Mark L-J, Belinda L-J, Lucas D, Nickole H, Amanda N, Shazbeith, Dorian E, Cosette P, Fiona M

How to cast your proxy vote (for members who are unable to attend the AGM):

To cast your vote on the role of Vice President, please email your vote to pagancollectivevic@gmail.com no later than midnight on Thursday, the 16th of July, 2015. In this email, please include:

• Your legal name
• The name of the Vice President candidate (see above) you wish to vote for
• Your proxy – the name of a person attending the meeting. If you don’t know anyone attending the meeting, you can designate the chairperson (president) to be your proxy.

Proxy voting closes at midnight on Thursday, the 16th of July 2015.
